Where does the service area actually run?

What if you are near the edge, or outside it?

A weekday rather than a Saturday, when the day is longer and the tip sites are open later. If you only have one load, you may not need a bin
A bin is the wrong purchase for a single carload.
Self-haul means driving it yourself. You load your own vehicle, take it to a transfer station, drive onto a scale, tip, and pay by weight at the gate, which is the scale on the way in. For one boot-load or one trailer of household clear-out, that is nearly always cheaper than any rental.
What it costs you instead is time and a suitable vehicle. Two or three trips in a car is most of a Saturday. The sites also keep their own hours, and a Saturday afternoon close is common enough to catch people out.

How fast does a bin arrive, and what decides it?
Three things govern how fast a bin can reach you, and none of them is how urgently you need it.
The first is where the container currently is. A bin sitting empty in the yard is a different proposition from one that is full on somebody else’s driveway and has to be collected and tipped first.
The second is the truck’s route that day. Deliveries and collections are strung together into a run. An address sitting along one already planned is far easier to add than one in the opposite direction.
The third is distance from the base, which is the same reason the edge of the area is a phone question rather than a form question.
