Every Big Bin price includes delivery, pickup, 7 days, dumping and boards under the bin. Household and renovation waste includes 2, 3 or 4 tonnes, by bin size. How to get your price, tax included

Your price depends on the bin size, what you put in it, and how long you keep it. To get your price online, answer three questions, pick your dates, and leave your name and phone number.

In Ontario, HST is 13 per cent. The price you get online already has it inside the total, so no tax is added later.

What can change your price

Which of these can apply depends on what you throw out. Work out what your load weighs before you pick a size. Bin and dumpster rental cost goes through what a whole job can cost, from the bin to a street permit.

More weight than the bin includes

Household and renovation waste has weight included: 2 tonnes with a 14 yard bin, 3 with a 30 yard and 4 with a 40 yard. Past that, every extra tonne is charged, based on the scale at the dump.

Filling above the line

Filling above the line marked on every bin costs extra, whatever is in the bin. Clean concrete and clean soil have no weight charge, so the line is their limit.

Other charges

Some other charges can apply, such as keeping the bin more than 7 days, a delivery the truck could not finish, or making the driver wait. When you pick your dates online, any extra days are already in your price.

What does not change it: distance

A job at the far edge of our area costs the same as one around the corner from our yard. Big Bin delivers east to Oshawa, north to Orangeville, west to Hamilton, and where you are inside that area does not change your price.

Every charge that can appear on an invoice

A load above the fill line Every bin has a fill line marked on it. On clean concrete and clean soil, the line takes the place of a weight charge, because those have none. Going above it costs extra on every bin, whatever is in it.
More weight than the bin includes, on household and renovation waste The dump charges by weight. A bin of household and renovation waste includes 2 to 4 tonnes in the price, depending on its size, and every tonne over that is charged, from the weigh slip the dump prints.
Extra rental days The price includes 7 days with the bin, whatever is in it. Each day you keep it after that costs extra.
Failed delivery The truck comes but cannot set the bin down — a car is in the way, a gate is locked, or snow covers the spot. The trip still happened, so it costs the same as the drop-off would have.
Waiting time The driver has to wait longer than a drop-off or a pickup normally takes.
Moving a bin after it is placed Moving a bin after it is set down means bringing the truck back to lift it again.
Items that are not allowed in the bin Some items cost more to get rid of, and the dump turns some away altogether. What can go in a bin lists them.
Other waste in a clean concrete or clean soil bin If anything else goes into a clean concrete or clean soil bin — even another heavy material — the bin is not taken away. Its price depends on it holding one clean material and nothing else. If you have already loaded the bin when this is found, a charge applies.

Does the material or the size decide a Big Bin price?

Both matter, and what you throw out matters more. Dumps charge by weight, and a bin full of concrete weighs far more than the same bin full of furniture. So household and renovation waste comes with some weight included, and more weight costs extra. Clean concrete and clean soil go in the 14 yard bin and are never weighed for the bill: a fill line marked on the bin is the limit instead. Your online price is worked out for your own job, with HST included.

Is delivery included in a Big Bin price?

Yes. Every price includes bringing the bin to your address and taking it away again, and the price is the same wherever you are in the area Big Bin delivers to. Boards go down under the bin on every delivery, and they are included in the price too.

Are there fuel or admin fees?

No. There is no fuel surcharge, because fuel is part of the price, and there is no environmental fee or admin fee either.

Why can a Big Bin bill come to more than the lowest price?

Bin rentals from $718, before HST, for a 14 yard bin of household and renovation waste. Bigger bins and heavier materials cost more. A bill also goes up when household or renovation waste weighs more than the bin includes, when a bin is filled above its fill line, or when it is kept longer than 7 days. Your online price shows what your own bin, material and dates cost before you book.

What if my bin is overweight?
