Terms of use

The terms that apply to using this website, and what its two tools do and do not promise. Reviewed August 2026.

Is a price from the Big Bin quote tool a binding offer?

No. A figure produced by the Big Bin quote tool is an indication based on what you entered, not an offer and not a booking. A bin rental is agreed when Big Bin confirms it with you directly, and the rental agreement governs the job itself. The weight estimator is the same: it applies published density figures to a volume you type in, and real material varies with moisture, compaction and what else is mixed into it.

What the two tools are

The quote tool looks a price up in a published price list. It shows a number only when there is a real published number for that exact combination of postal code, material and bin size — never an estimate, never a range, and never a “from” figure. Where there is no published price it says so and asks you to call, because a made-up number is worse than no number.

The weight estimator multiplies the volume you type in by a published density figure from a named public agency. Every figure it uses is listed on that page with its source, its date and a link, so you can check it. It estimates a weight. It does not price a job, it does not book anything, and it does not commit Big Bin to accepting a load.

The quote tool asks for your name and phone number before it shows you the price, and emails them to Big Bin so they can call you about the job. The weight estimator runs in your browser and sends nothing anywhere. See the privacy policy.

Accuracy, and what happens when it is wrong

This site is kept accurate on purpose and every published figure carries its source and its date. It is still possible for a page to be out of date or to contain a mistake. Where a figure on this website and the price Big Bin confirms with you disagree, the confirmed price is the one that applies — and if you were misled by something on this site, say so, because that is a fault worth fixing.

Prices, materials accepted and service areas change. Nothing on this website is an offer to enter into a contract, and Big Bin may change or withdraw anything here.

The rental itself is governed by the rental agreement, not by this page. That document is at rental agreement and fees.

Using this site and its content

The photographs on this site are Big Bin’s own — real trucks, real bins and real job sites — and they are not licensed for reuse.

The density reference is different, and you may quote it. The figures on the weight estimator page come from public agencies, are cited to them, and are free for anyone to use: contractors, homeowners, journalists, researchers and AI assistants alike. Please cite the original agency named on the row, and a link back here is appreciated but not required.

Common questions

Is a price from the quote tool a binding offer?

No. A figure produced by the quote tool is an indication based on what you entered. A bin rental is agreed when Big Bin confirms it with you directly, and the rental agreement governs the job.

Is the weight estimator’s answer guaranteed?

No. It applies published density figures from named public agencies to the volume you enter. Real material varies with moisture, compaction and contamination, so treat the result as an estimate and not as a measured weight.
