How much does garbage bin rental in Mississauga cost?
Bin rentals from $718, before HST, for a 14 yard bin of household and renovation waste. There are two bills, from two different places. If the bin needs the City’s road occupancy permit, the City charges for it and you pay the City. Everything else is the rental, and a Mississauga address adds nothing to it.
On the rental, the bin size and what goes in set the price. With household and renovation waste, the price includes some weight: 2 tonnes for a 14 yard bin, 3 tonnes for a 30 yard and 4 tonnes for a 40 yard. The full bin is weighed at the dump, and each tonne over what the price includes is added. The fill line marked on each bin shows how high to load it. Going over it costs extra, and so does keeping a bin past 7 days.
If the driver has no room to set the bin down on the day, that is a failed delivery. Bin rental prices lists it with the other extra charges.

Can a bin go on your driveway in Mississauga?
Yes, on your own land. A bin inside your property line in Mississauga needs no City permit. But the City’s road occupancy permit covers its road allowance — the roadway, the sidewalk and the boulevard strip — and the end of a driveway nearest the road can be part of that.
On a City street, the City of Mississauga calls the permit a road occupancy permit, and the type that covers a container on the road is temporary road occupation. A waste bin or storage container on a City road needs this permit.
The City’s permit is for City roads. On one of the Region’s main roads it does not apply, so ask the Region.
To check a road, the Region of Peel publishes its own list of the regional roads it maintains, and an Ontario regulation hands the ones in Mississauga to the City on 1 July 2027.
Right now, the City’s permit is yours to get, and Big Bin does not file it.

Where is the dump in Mississauga, and when is it open?
Mississauga’s two public drop-off centres belong to Peel Region: Battleford, at 2255 Battleford Rd., and Fewster, at 1126 Fewster Dr. Both are open every day, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and both close on statutory and provincial holidays. Peel calls them Community Recycling Centres, and each takes most of what a household throws out.
No asbestos is taken. Payment is by debit, Visa or Mastercard; cash is not accepted. At the gate, you show proof that you live in Peel, or that you own or work for a business there, and what you bring has to come from Peel.
A car, van or pickup truck can drive in, towing a trailer if the whole vehicle is no more than 12 metres long. Garbage and junk removal in Mississauga
In Mississauga, a rented bin takes the junk from a clear-out and the waste from a renovation together: furniture, mattresses, household contents, scrap metal, drywall, cabinets, tile and branches. Until 1 October 2027, the Region of Peel collects Mississauga’s household waste at the curb, and on that date the City takes the work over. Most households put their garbage out every other week, by 7 a.m. on collection day. A home that uses bags can set out 4 bags or full containers in all; any more go in black bags with a garbage tag, under 20 kg each, or to a Peel centre for a disposal fee.
Furniture, couches, mattresses and other bulky items are picked up free at the curb on your regular garbage day. A barbecue can go out too, once its propane tank is off. Bulky items can also go to a Peel drop-off centre, where a drop-off fee applies. Renovation, construction and demolition waste is not picked up at the curb.
Where to take hazardous waste in Mississauga
Take household hazardous waste in Mississauga to Peel’s Battleford or Fewster centre, where it goes in free. Peel never collects it at the curb, so it stays out of the garbage.
That covers paint and stains, batteries of every kind, with tape over their metal ends, and propane and helium cylinders, 5 a day and 18 kg each at most. Liquids are limited to 80 litres a day, in containers of 30 litres or less, each labelled and sealed.
A Mississauga business that has hazardous waste to get rid of can use Fewster too: it takes business hazardous waste from eligible Peel businesses, which apply to Peel first.
Yard waste pickup in Mississauga
Right now, Peel picks up yard waste at the curb in Mississauga every week in spring, from mid-March to June, and in fall, from October to mid-December, and every other week in summer, from July to September. How often it comes may change when the City takes the pickup over.
Set it out by 7 a.m. on your yard waste day: the truck comes any time between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Use Kraft paper yard waste bags, or a can or container clearly marked for yard waste, each under 20 kg when full. Yard waste in plastic bags stays at the curb.
The pickup takes items such as leaves and rakings, tree trimmings and branches, brush and hedge trimmings, and household and garden plants. Peel’s drop-off centres take yard waste too, for a fee.

Which disposal bin size suits a Mississauga job?
All three of our bins come to Mississauga: 14, 30 or 40 yard. Two questions pick the size: what is going in, and how much of it there is.
What is going in comes first. Concrete and soil each go in a 14 yard bin of their own, never together, and either one is priced flat, with no charge for weight. Keep them clean too: if anything else is in with them, the bin is not taken away. If you have filled the bin by the time that is found, a charge applies as well. Construction bin rental in Mississauga
On a Mississauga construction site, a bin full of household and renovation waste can be swapped for an empty bin of that size. With household waste, the empty bin comes with the same weight included as the first one, and its own 7 days on site, counted from the swap. Each household-waste swap is billed as one trip for a bin that size, never as another rental. There is no swap rate for clean concrete or clean soil, so every bin of either after the first costs the full price again.
