How much does garbage bin rental in Brampton cost?

How to keep a Brampton bin rental cheap
Pick the smallest bin the job fits in, since a second bin is a second charge, and a heavy load costs no less in a bigger bin. Keep a concrete or soil load clean, so it stays at its one flat price. And plan the days: only the days past the 7 included cost extra.
Can a bin go on your driveway in Brampton?
Yes, on your own land. “Highway” in Brampton’s traffic by-law takes in the area between the lateral property lines, so the roadway, the boulevard strip and the sidewalk are all in, and your own land, inside the property line, is not. The part of a driveway that crosses the boulevard strip can be City land.
On the road itself, the by-law names a bin directly. It lists the depositing of large refuse containers or bulk containers on a highway among the things that count as obstructing a highway, which the same by-law prohibits outright.
The City does issue a permit for occupying the road allowance. Its road occupancy and access permit asks for a minimum of five days notice for processing, and the application’s own categories cover access, road crossings, sidewalk work, excavation, excess loads and occupying a lane. A container is not one of the categories on the form.
Reconciling the by-law and the form is the City’s call, so ask the City before planning a street placement.
Some main roads in Brampton are the Region of Peel’s, and the City’s permit does not cover them. The Region publishes its own list of its roads, and under an Ontario regulation the ones in Brampton become the City’s on 1 July 2027.

Where is the dump in Brampton, and when is it open?
Brampton has two public drop-off centres, and both are Peel Region’s: the Brampton centre, at 395 Chrysler Dr., and the Heart Lake centre, at 420 Railside Dr. Each is open seven days a week, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except on statutory and provincial holidays. Each accepts most household waste items, and household hazardous waste and recycling go in free. For liquid hazardous waste, the limit is 80 litres a day, and no container may hold more than 30 litres; each one has to be sealed and labelled.
Asbestos is turned away. Debit, Visa and Mastercard are taken, but not cash. Bring proof that you are a Peel resident, or own or work for a business in Peel, since only waste from Peel is accepted.
Cars, vans and pickups get in, and so does one pulling a trailer, as long as the whole vehicle is no more than 12 metres. Any vehicle, with its load, has to weigh under 5 tonnes. Both Brampton centres also take loads from a tip trailer: clean fill, sod, brick, asphalt, rubble, clean concrete and oversized items at either one, shingles at the Brampton centre, and yard waste and wood at Heart Lake. Right now, Peel Region runs garbage and organics collection in Brampton, and the City takes that collection over from Peel on 1 October 2027. Garbage is picked up every other week at most homes; set it at the curb by 7 a.m. Where a home uses bags, a total of 4 bags or full cans goes out on garbage day, and each bag past that needs a tag and has to weigh under 20 kg. Extra garbage can also be dropped at a Peel centre, where a disposal fee is charged.
Peel also takes bulky items from the curb at no charge, on the regular garbage day: furniture such as a couch, or a mattress. A barbecue goes out once its propane tank has been taken off. Any of them can go to a Peel drop-off centre instead, for a fee. The curb pickup does not take renovation, construction or demolition waste.
Yard waste pickup in Brampton
Right now, Peel Region picks up yard waste from the curb in Brampton, and the City takes it over with the rest of collection. Peel’s collection calendar shows your pickup day.
Have it at the curb by 7 a.m. on that day; collection can come as late as 8 p.m. Peel takes it only in Kraft brown paper bags, or in cans and containers clearly marked as yard waste, and each one has to weigh less than 20 kg full. Plastic bags of yard waste are not collected.
What goes out includes leaves and yard rakings, branches and tree trimmings, hedge trimmings and brush, and house and garden plants. Both Brampton drop-off centres take yard waste as well, with a drop-off fee.

It does not apply to most minor landscaping at a home, such as lawn dressing, a flower bed or a path, as long as it harms no drainage system the City approved; building or removing a retaining wall, or putting in or filling an in-ground pool, is not minor landscaping.
