Clean fill bin rental in Caledon or Bolton
A clean fill bin is for soil with nothing else mixed in, like dirt dug out of a garden bed or a hole for a pool. That is the 14 yard bin. It costs one flat price, and its weight is not charged. That price covers bringing the bin, taking it away full, and 7 days to fill it.
Keep the load clean. Concrete goes in a bin of its own, never in with soil. If anything else gets mixed into the soil, we will not take that bin away. If the bin is already full when that is found, you also pay a charge. Big Bin does not take contaminated soil.

How residential bin rental in Caledon or Bolton works
Three steps. You tell us what is going in and where the bin can stand. A truck sets the empty bin on that spot, and later a truck takes it away full. Nobody usually has to be at the house for either visit. We need the exact spot, and room for the truck to get to it.
Our yard is in Mississauga, and the trucks that serve Caledon also go to Brampton, Milton, Hamilton, Vaughan, Georgetown and Orangeville.
01
Tell us about the job
Call or email with what you are clearing, where the bin can stand, and when you need it.
02
The bin arrives
A truck sets the bin down where you asked. Nothing is emptied at your place: you or your crew fill it when it suits you.
03
It leaves full
The truck takes the whole bin away, and the load is weighed at the dump.
How much does bin rental in Caledon or Bolton cost?
Bin rentals from $718, before HST, for a 14 yard bin of household and renovation waste. There are two bills, from two different places. If the bin needs a Town permit for a road, the Town charges for it and you pay the Town. Everything else is the rental, and a Caledon address adds nothing to it.
On the rental, the bin size and what goes in set the price. With household and renovation waste, the price includes some weight: 2 tonnes for a 14 yard bin, 3 tonnes for a 30 yard and 4 tonnes for a 40 yard. The full bin is weighed at the dump, and each tonne over what the price includes is added. The fill line marked on each bin shows how high to load it. Going over it costs extra, and so does keeping a bin past 7 days.
If the driver has no room to set the bin down on the day, that is a failed delivery. Bin rental prices lists it with the other extra charges.

Can a bin go on your driveway in Caledon or Bolton?
On your own land, inside the property line, a bin needs no road permit. But under the Town’s Traffic By-law, the road takes in all the land up to the property line, not just the pavement. So the end of a Caledon driveway nearest the road can be Town land, and a bin there needs the Town’s OK.
Who you ask depends on the road. A Town road is the Town’s to decide. A Region of Peel road is the Region’s until 1 July 2027, when those roads pass to the Town. To check whose road yours is, call Service Caledon, the Town’s customer service line, at 905.584.2272 ext. 7750.
Caledon’s Traffic By-law counts putting large refuse containers or bulk containers on a road as blocking the road. Work that blocks part of a Town road needs a Town permit. For work on a Town road, sidewalk or boulevard, the Town issues a Right of Way Occupancy Permit, though the permit does not mention bins.
The Town does not say which fee a bin needs, so ask the Town before you apply.
The application needs a sketch of the spot and a traffic control plan, which shows the signs and cones that guide drivers past it. Ask the Town how much notice your date needs.
At the moment, you are the one who applies: Big Bin does not file the permit.
| The question | What the Town of Caledon says |
|---|---|
| Fee for soft ground, like sod or gravel | $125.63 source [5], with no HST |
| Fee for hard surfaces, like concrete or asphalt | $341.84 source [5], with no HST |
| Insurance | $5M source [1] at least, with the Town named on the policy |
| Notice | At least three weeks under the Traffic By-law |

Where is the dump in Caledon or Bolton, and when is it open?
A Caledon household can take its own waste to one of Peel Region’s drop-off centres, which Peel calls Community Recycling Centres. Two are in Caledon: the Bolton centre, at 109 Industrial Rd., open Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the Caledon centre, at 1795 Quarry Dr., open Monday to Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Both are closed on Sundays and on statutory holidays.
Renovation material is taken for a fee, but asbestos is not accepted. The centres take debit or credit cards, not cash, and ask for proof that you live in Peel or run a business there.
A full bin cannot go there, because roll-off trucks are not allowed at any centre. To check what can go in a rented bin, item by item, read What can go in a bin.
| What you have | Where it goes | On what terms |
|---|---|---|
| A carload of household or renovation waste | The Bolton centre or the Caledon centre | $7 source [8] at least, then 14.5 cents per kg source [8] |
| A small load of soil, gravel or clean fill | Any Peel drop-off centre | A fee applies |
| Soil with nothing else in it, by the bin | A 14 yard clean fill bin from Big Bin | One flat price, with no weight charge |
Garbage and junk removal in Caledon or Bolton
In Caledon, a rented bin takes the junk from a clear-out and the waste from a renovation together: furniture, mattresses, household contents, scrap metal, drywall, cabinets, tile and branches. If something is unusual, call 416-458-4324 before the bin arrives. To choose between a bin and junk removal, see Bin rental or junk removal?
Right now, Peel takes bulky items such as furniture and mattresses from the curb for free, on your regular garbage day: set them out by 7 a.m. A Peel drop-off centre takes them too, for a fee.
Peel Region collects garbage, organics and yard waste at the curb for the Town of Caledon. The Town takes that collection over on 1 October 2027, and Peel keeps its drop-off centres. For most households, garbage goes out every other week. Homes that use bags instead of a garbage bin can set out up to 4 bags or full containers on garbage day, and each extra bag needs a garbage tag and must weigh less than 20 kg.
Large metal appliances, such as fridges, freezers, stoves, washers and dryers, are not collected at the curb. Any Peel drop-off centre takes them, free when they come as a load of their own. Renovation, construction and demolition materials are not collected from the curb either.
Yard waste and landscaping bins in Caledon
For a yard or landscaping job in Caledon, branches, sod, old fencing and decking go in a household and renovation bin. If something is unusual, call 416-458-4324 before the bin arrives. Soil goes in a bin of its own, the 14 yard clean fill bin.
Under the Town’s Fill By-law, lawn dressing, landscaping and adding to garden beds need no fill permit, but only if all three of these hold. The soil placed is no deeper than 15 centimetres. The ground within 60 centimetres of a property line stays as it is. And no ditch or other drainage channel changes.
A small amount of yard waste can go to a drop-off centre instead. The Caledon centre takes up to 150 kilograms of yard waste free, and charges by weight above that. The Bolton centre charges its regular fees for yard waste.
What will your renovation waste weigh?
Type in how long, wide and high your pile is, and our free weight tool gives you a rough weight in tonnes, so you can see whether it goes past the weight your bin includes.
Which disposal bin size suits a Caledon or Bolton job?
All three of our bins come to Caledon: 14, 30 or 40 yard. Two questions pick the size: what is going in, and how much of it there is.
What is going in comes first. Concrete and soil each go in a 14 yard bin of their own, never together, and either one is priced flat, with no charge for weight. Asphalt is not a material Big Bin takes, in any bin size. To see why concrete gets its own bin, read Concrete disposal.
How much comes second. A garage clear-out or a basement of old furniture fills a bin by space, not by weight. If a bin fills up before the job is done, a second bin costs extra, so leave some room when you choose. To compare the three bins side by side, see the Bin size guide.
How big is each bin?
| Bin | Measurements | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| 14 yard | 4'1" high × 11'6" long × 7'6" wide | Gutting a bathroom or kitchen, a garage clear-out, one room taken down to the wall frame. |
| 30 yard | 5'4" high × 20' long × 7'6" wide | A full renovation, taking off a roof, clearing out a house, a mid-size demolition. |
| 40 yard | 7' high × 20' long × 7'6" wide | A whole-house renovation, fitting out a store or office, a long building job. |
Before a bin comes to your Caledon address, look at the way in as well as the spot. The truck needs about 25 feet of headroom to lift its bed, 10 feet of width and 65 feet of straight, clear space to back in. These are rough numbers, so call and describe the spot if yours is tighter.

Construction bin rental in Caledon or Bolton
On a Caledon construction site, a bin full of household and renovation waste can be swapped for an empty bin of that size. With household waste, the empty bin comes with the same weight included as the first one, and its own 7 days on site, counted from the swap. Each household-waste swap is billed as one trip for a bin that size, never as another rental. There is no swap rate for clean concrete or clean soil, so every bin of either after the first costs the full price again.
A site bin on a Town road needs a Town permit.
Bin rental for contractors sets out how swaps work on a long job. Construction bin rental helps when the waste changes as the build goes on. Running several Caledon jobs, or managing a building? See Commercial bin and dumpster rental.
Renting a bin in Caledon: common questions
Do I need a permit for a bin in Caledon or Bolton?
On your own land, inside the property line, a bin needs no road permit. On a Town road, only with the Town’s permission. On a Region of Peel road, ask the Region until 1 July 2027, when those roads pass to the Town. To check whose road it is, call Service Caledon. Caledon’s Traffic By-law counts large refuse containers on a Town road as blocking it, and that kind of work needs a Town permit. The Town’s Right of Way Occupancy Permit comes in two kinds. The Town does not say which one a bin needs, so ask the Town first. At the moment, you apply for the permit yourself, not Big Bin.
Where is the dump in Caledon or Bolton?
The Region of Peel’s drop-off centre in Bolton is at 109 Industrial Rd., open Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The other centre in the Town, at 1795 Quarry Dr. in Caledon, opens Monday to Saturday. A load that carries a fee costs at least $7 source [8], and more weight is charged at 14.5 cents per kg source [8]. Small loads of soil, gravel or clean fill are taken for a fee. Both centres take cards, not cash, and ask for proof that you live or run a business in Peel.
How much does dumpster bin rental cost in Caledon or Bolton?
Bin rentals from $718, before HST, for a 14 yard bin of household and renovation waste. That price includes delivery, pickup and 7 days. Weight over what a bin includes adds to it, and so do a load above the fill line and a bin kept longer. The price is the same anywhere in Caledon. Get your own price online.
What can go in a bin in Caledon or Bolton?
Furniture, mattresses, household contents, wood, drywall, cabinets, tile, carpet, roofing shingles, scrap metal, fencing and branches can go in a bin of household and renovation waste. Asphalt is not a material Big Bin takes, in any bin size. Big Bin does not take contaminated soil. Paint, propane tanks, batteries and tires stay out of the bin and go to a drop-off of their own. In Caledon, Peel’s Bolton and Caledon drop-off centres take paint and other household hazardous waste free. If something is unusual, call 416-458-4324 before the bin arrives. For the rest, item by item, see What can go in a bin.
Do you rent commercial bins in Caledon or Bolton?
Yes. Big Bin rents the same 14, 30 and 40 yard roll-off bins to businesses and buildings in Caledon, one bin or one job at a time. See Commercial bin and dumpster rental.
Can yard waste go in a bin in Caledon or Bolton?
A bin of household and renovation waste takes fencing, decking, sod, branches and brick from a landscaping job. Brick goes in with other household and renovation waste, but it is heavy for its size: the price includes 2 to 4 tonnes of weight, by bin size, and each tonne over that costs extra. Brick uses up that weight fast. The Caledon centre takes up to 150 kilograms of yard waste free, and charges by weight above that.
Can I rent a bin for clean fill or concrete in Caledon or Bolton?
Yes. Clean soil, or clean concrete, each goes in a 14 yard bin of its own, with nothing else in it. The Town’s Fill By-law says no one may remove, place or dump fill on any land without a Town permit, unless the work is exempt. Lawn and garden work needs no permit when the new soil is no deeper than 15 centimetres, the ground within 60 centimetres of a property line stays the same, and no ditch or drain changes. If the job needs the Town’s fill permit, its standard processing time is 14 business days, so ask the Town before soil comes in or goes out.
How much is a clean fill bin in Caledon?
It is one flat price for the 14 yard bin, with no weight charge, and the online quote gives it for your dates. That price covers delivery, pickup and 7 days. Loading above the fill line, or keeping the bin longer, costs extra.
