Too much for one trip?

When a load is too big for a car or a trailer, Big Bin can bring a bin to the address. One price covers the delivery, the pickup and 7 days. Clean concrete or clean soil goes in a 14 yard bin of its own, with nothing else in it, for one flat price.

Big Bin delivers bins in Brampton, in 14 yard, 30 yard and 40 yard sizes.

The bin size guide shows which size a load needs, what can go in a bin checks it item by item, bin and dumpster rental cost shows what a rental includes, and roll-off bins explained covers how the truck works.

For a renovation, see construction bin rental, or weigh a bin against junk removal. Get a quote for your address and dates.

The Brampton dump: common questions

Is the Brampton dump open on Sundays and holidays?

Sundays, yes: the Brampton CRC and Heart Lake take loads from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on every day of the week. They close on Remembrance Day, 11 November, and on statutory and provincial holidays.

Is there a landfill in Brampton?

Peel’s landfills are former ones, which it keeps monitoring for gas and leachate, and a Brampton resident can use any Peel centre, the Brampton CRC and Heart Lake included.

Does the Brampton dump take tires?

No. Neither centre takes tires, rims or wagon wheels, the curb doesn’t either, and large off-road tractor and loader tires aren’t accepted.

Where can you take hazardous waste in Brampton?

Household hazardous waste goes to the Brampton CRC or Heart Lake, free. Label and seal each container, never mix products, and keep liquids to 80 litres a day at most, with no container over 30 litres. Tape the terminals of batteries, car batteries too; propane and helium tanks are limited to 5 a day, 18 kg each at most, and light bulbs to 40 a day. Sharps go in a biohazard container, free at the centre, for residents. Heart Lake also takes business hazardous waste from eligible businesses, by appointment, after Peel approves the application.

What can you drop off for free at the Brampton dump?

At both centres, recycling, metal, electronics and appliances brought as a load of their own, household hazardous waste and sharps containers, clothing and reusable goods at the donation areas, scrap metal to 2.4 m and a barbecue’s propane tank, and a boat made only of metal all go in free. The Brampton CRC takes election signs free for 30 days after an election, and Heart Lake shreds paper free.

Is scrap metal free at the Brampton dump?

Yes, up to 2.4 m long. Large appliances and metal fixtures are free, and that covers fridges, freezers, stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, air conditioners and furnaces, and empty hot water tanks. A boat made only of steel or other metal is free as well. A lawn mower’s fuel and oil have to be drained out first, and car parts carry a fee.
